Before we delve into the methods of discovering the elusive ring size, let's understand a bit about ring sizes. In the UK, ring sizes range from D to Z+6, with an average size of around N for women. However, if you're shopping internationally, ring sizes can differ. Not to worry, we can often convert these sizes to UK standards.

But first things first, if you end up with the wrong ring size, it's not the end of the world. Many jewellers (including us!!) offer resizing services. We provide a half-price resizing service within the first three months of purchase. We can resize most rings up or down by approximately three sizes, though it's important to note that rings with stones on the shoulders can be a bit trickier to resize.

Now, let's dive into the exciting part – how to discover your partner's ring size discreetly...

1. Use a metal ring sizer

2. borrow one of their rings

One of the most accurate ways to determine ring size is by using a metal ring sizer. You can purchase one from our website, and it will arrive in discreet packaging. This method ensures precision and avoids any guesswork.

If you can't access a ring sizer, consider borrowing one of your partner's rings. However, ensure it's a ring they don't wear every day and preferably one worn on their ring finger. You can measure the ring using a tape measure or ruler, or compare it to our online guide.

3. trace their ring

4. use string

Another option is to gently trace the inside of one of their rings with a pencil. Then, take this trace to a jeweller who can interpret your sketch and provide the correct ring size.

Grab a piece of string or floss. Gently wrap it around the base of the finger and make a mark where the string first overlaps. Then, lay the string flat and measure its length in millimetres using a ruler or measuring tape.
