how to use our 'design your own engagement ring' customiser tool

If you're looking for a unique engagement ring but aren't quite sure where to start then take a look at our newly refurbished Design Your Own Engagement Ring tool. With a wide variety of gemstone shapes and types, setting styles and metal options, it's the perfect way to craft your dream ring or use it to get inspired! While this tool can be used on mobile, tablet, laptop and desktop, we recommend opting for laptop or desktop to get the best possible experience.

Here's a step by step guide on how you can use our Design Your Own Engagement Ring tool.

Step One

The first step is to select the gemstone shape you want. From modern kite cuts to classic ovals, our Design Your Own Ring tool allows you to envision your dream ring with a range of different gemstone cuts.

Take a look at our guide on different gemstone shapes to learn some more about which one could be perfect for you.

Step Two

Once you've had a play around with some different gemstone shapes, you can now select the type of gem you want your centre stone to be.

If you're unsure about which gemstone you love the most then browse our collection of gemstone engagement rings for some inspiration.

Step Three

Now it's time to choose a metal type, so whether you’re a yellow gold person or if cooler toned metals are more to your liking, we have four different precious metals for you to choose from.

Take a look at our Jewellery School if you'd like all the facts on different metal types before making your decision.

Step Four

When you’re happy with your metal choice, you can select which style you’d like your ring to be set in. You will be able to choose from a selection of styles which work alongside your gemstone shape choice to create a beautiful yet sturdy ring.

Step Five

If you’re choosing one of our gold metal options, the next step is deciding which carat weight you would like your ring to be. With yellow gold, the higher the carat weight, the more vibrant in colour it will be (and more expensive).

Take a look at our metal guides to learn more about how different carat weights affect your ring.

Step Six

The next step is to choose your ring size. We always recommend ordering one of our ring sizers before ordering one of our rings online, even if you feel pretty confident you know your ring size. Take a look at our ring size guide if you’re not sure how to accurately find your ring size.

If you’re designing a ring for someone else and you’re unsure of their ring size then take a look at our guide which explains how you can find out their ring size without them knowing. Or contact the team for more information.

Step Seven

Now you’ll need to select whether you would like an engraving on the inside of your ring, this can be a special date or a couple of meaningful words. The engraving will add an extra £35 to your overall price. You then just need to write in the text box what you would like to be engraved into your ring.

Once you're happy with all your design choices, enter your email address and click the 'Add to cart' button.

Step Eight

Now your dream ring design is complete and you can continue to the payment process! Once we have received your payment we’ll get started on crafting your ring, we’ll keep you in the loop every step of the way but if you have any questions don’t hesitate to reach out to our team who will be more than happy to help.

Gemstone images used on the customiser are a representative example of the colour/shade and clarity that will be selected for all Design Your Own pieces, however it's important to note that every gemstone is different (which is what makes them so beautiful!), so your final piece could look slightly different from the image shown.

Salt and pepper diamonds are known for their distinctive inclusions, meaning every gemstone has a unique look. We therefore recommend opting for the custom design service if you have your heart set on a specific type of salt and pepper diamond.
