Celebrity Engagement Rings of 2024

Celebrity engagement rings

2024 has certainly been the year of the celebrity proposal, with a number of our favourite famous couples stealing the spotlight as they take the next step to say their ‘I do’s’. From jaw-dropping solitaires to unique toi et moi designs, we can’t get enough of the stunning engagement rings making headlines. We're all about keeping up with engagement ring trends, and these famous proposals are a great way to see what kind of rings are taking the world by storm, one diamond at a time.

Lady Gaga’s Engagement Ring

The pop diva and her entrepreneur beau, Michael Polansky, finally got engaged after four years of dating and we were absolutely awe struck by the ring he gifted her. The star first stepped out with her new sparkler on display at the Venice Film Festival in September and it immediately stole our hearts. The ring features an oval cut white diamond, which we estimate to be a hefty 8 carats in weight. The stunning stone appears to be of excellent clarity, meaning if it's a natural diamond, it certainly set her husband-to-be back a pretty penny due to the rarity of larger, higher quality mined diamonds. The solitaire centre stone is set on a platinum pavé band, so it's encrusted with sparkling white diamonds, only adding to the glamour of the already captivating ring.

The choice for a solitaire, while right on trend with celebs such as Hailey Bieber opting for one, is also a symbolic choice. The singular stone represents the unity and shared bond of two people in marriage, making it a perfect choice for such a sentimental piece of jewellery. Due to the sheer size and high quality of the diamond, along with the fact that its set atop a platinum pave band, we would estimate Lady Gaga’s engagement ring is worth approximately £460,000 ($580,000)!

Emma Roberts’s Engagement Ring

(Emma Roberts and Cody John)

Emma Roberts announced her engagement to fellow actor Cody John back in July with a romantic instagram picture of the pair in the countryside, but we found it hard to concentrate on anything other than Emma’s gorgeous ring! Cody opted for a classic round solitaire diamond for Emma’s forever ring, making it a more traditional choice but one filled with style and versatility. The white diamond centre stone is approximately 3.5 carats and scores high across the board for the 4 Cs, which means its cut, clarity, carat weight and colour are all of a high quality.

What we love about Emma’s ring is the chunky gold band with antique-style accent engravings. While most opt for a slimmer band as a way to maximise the size of the centre stone, we love how Emma and Cody have opted to express their style a little differently by choosing the chunky band design. The ring also displays a bezel setting, otherwise known as a rubover setting. So instead of the more traditional claws, Emma’s diamond is secured by a thin band of metal which encompasses the stone, giving it an antique appearance. With the unique design choices and craftsmanship of the ring, paired with the 3.5 carat, high quality diamond, it's no surprise that it cost Cody John an estimated £140,000 ($175,000).

Suki Waterhouse’s Engagement Ring From Robert Pattinson

Suki Waterhouse toi et moi engagement ring from Robert Pattinson

Our teenage vampire heartthrob is finally off the market and we couldn't be more heartbroken! However, we were on the edge of our seats to see what kind of ring he gave his model/singer partner, Suki Waterhouse. Robert gifted Suki an absolutely stunning toi et moi ring to mark their engagement which perfectly reflects her fun, feminine style. ‘Toi et moi’ directly translates to ‘me and you’ and the style features two central gemstones instead of one, each stone representing each person in a marriage. The style has become increasingly popular over the last couple of years, with celebrities such as Megan Fox, Emily Osment and now Suki Waterhouse opting for a toi et moi engagement ring!

Although photos of the ring are scarce, we can tell it's a stunner! The two gemstones give the ring an east-west appearance and are expertly cut into one elongated cushion cut and a smaller cushion cut. The elongated cushion cut stone is a white diamond while the smaller cushion cut appears to be either a peach coloured diamond or sapphire, giving the ring a warm glow. The two stones are then set on a rose gold band which features white diamond pavé detail, enhancing the sparkle of the two central stones and providing a rosy glimmer to match the coloured gemstone. With the two stunning centre stones and the pavé diamond band it's no surprise that R-Patz forked out a hefty sum of £260,000 ($330,000) for the ring!

Phoebe Dynevor’s Engagement Ring

Bridgerton leading lady Phoebe Dynevor announced her engagement to film and television producer Cameron Fuller on social media in 2024. Phoebe showed off her sparkling new engagement ring at the Met Gala where it made the perfect accessory to her dreamy red carpet ensemble. The ring is nothing short of extraordinary, with an elegant oval diamond at its centre, but this time with a twist! The ring features an antique-style button back setting, differentiating it from the wave of oval diamond solitaires that are sweeping the celebrity engagement ring world right now.

The setting was popularised in the Georgian era and has recently gained popularity again with stars such as Zoë Kravitz opting for a button back engagement ring from famous jeweller Jessica McCormack in 2023. Phoebe’s ring is crafted from warm yellow gold, giving the ring a sunny glow. We love how the ring, while hitting all the trends with its oval diamond, takes inspiration from vintage pieces. The ring supposedly set Cameron back a cool £80,000 ($100,000).

Amy Jackson’s Engagement Ring from Ed Westwick

Ed Westwick, best known for his role as Chuck Bass in Gossip Girl, proposed to Amy Jackson in 2024 while on a snowy trip in Switzerland with… you guessed it… an oval diamond solitaire ring. There’s no denying that the oval solitaire engagement ring is reigning supreme this year, and Ed’s ring for Amy is certainly one for the books! The diamond itself is a high quality 5 carat stone, and sits on an elegant yellow gold band. The simplicity of this ring means it will be a versatile piece for years to come and is guaranteed to stay in style.

With the size of the stone and the exceptional clarity and colour, we wouldn’t be surprised if Ed has opted for a lab grown diamond for his bride-to-be. There are only a small amount of natural large diamonds of this quality in the world at once due to the fact that natural diamonds take millions of years to grow, so Ed would be lucky to snag one! If the diamond is in fact mined, the ring could have cost Ed Westwick a staggering £250,000 ($300,000).

Adele’s Engagement Ring

Adele's pear cut engagement ring from Rich Paul

(Adele and Rich Paul)

Adele announced her engagement to celebrity sports agent Rich Paul in the summer of 2024 during a concert in Munich. Since then Adele has been proudly showing off her ring on red carpets, basketball games and in concert, and rightly so! The ring features a solitaire diamond which is expertly cut into a stunning pear shape and appears to be around 8 to 10 carats in weight, making it quite the showstopper! The hefty diamond is set on a dainty platinum pavé band, making the centre stone pop even more. While the thin band might look nice, we always recommend opting for a thicker band if you choose a larger stone so that it is fully supported.

The music icon’s engagement ring is a beautiful example of a pear solitaire ring and perfectly combines the singer's classic style with some extra glamour. The ring is possibly the most expensive of the year, with it reportedly costing Paul a jaw dropping £1.1million ($1.5 million)!

Gabriette’s Engagement Ring From Matty Healy

Gabriette's black diamond engagement ring from Matty Healy

(Gabriette and Matty Healy)

The 1975 Singer Matty Healy proposed to his model girlfriend Gabriette with a custom engagement ring which perfectly matches her edgy, gothic style. With a 5 carat black diamond at its centre, surrounded by a halo of white diamonds, this engagement ring perfectly blends Gabriette’s dark, moody style with traditional engagement ring design. Along with the halo, the ring features a triple split shank, meaning it forks into multiple strands instead of one solid band. The split shank also features pavé detail of white diamonds and appears to be set in platinum.

The gothic style engagement ring is the perfect expression of the duo's relationship and unique style while still feeling luxurious. While an unconventional choice, black diamonds are a popular choice for those who want all the glamour of a diamond but with a bit of an edge. They gained a surge of popularity when they were featured in the second Sex and the City movie in Carrie’s engagement ring from Mr.Big and have remained in the spotlight ever since. Matty apparently spent around £10,000 ($13,000) on the ring for his beloved, which despite the hefty price tag, is on the modest side of celebrity engagement ring prices!

When it comes to celebrity proposals, 2024 has certainly been one filled with glamour and luxury. With oval solitaire diamonds taking the world by storm, it will be interesting to see whether they continue to hold the number 1 spot in 2025. With many celebrities opting for elongated and elegant shapes, we predict there might be somewhat of a renaissance of the marquise cut diamond engagement ring in the next year! It has all the class and elegance of an oval but it's slightly less well-known, so it could be the perfect choice for individuals who want the sophistication of an oval diamond but want to stand out from the crowd.
