RING SIZER GUIDE
FIND THE PERFECT FIT
The first step to finding your dream forever ring is working out your ring size. You can do this really easily at home by requesting a ring sizer. It's small enough to fit through your letter box, and gives you the opportunity to find the perfect fit in your own time.
You can either choose your ring and select the 'send me a ring sizer' option, or click the link below to purchase one.
WHICH RING SIZER DO YOU NEED?
Our standard ring sizer will measure UK sizes A-Z. Like our rings, hands come in all shapes and sizes. If you need to check your size above size Z please email email@example.com.
We can convert US, EU and Japanese ring sizes to UK sizes. If you would like advice on this please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
At Jessica Flinn we recommend using our ring sizer where possible and if you have your own we strongly advise against using all types of plastic ring sizers.
STEP 1: IDENTIFY THE WIDEST PART OF YOUR FINGER
Before you try your ring sizer, you should check which part of your finger is the widest. If your knuckle is the widest, your ring should slide over your knuckle with a slight negotiation and sit flush. If the base is the widest part of your finger, your ring should sit neatly without sliding over your knuckle too easily.
If your knuckle is the widest part, you will need a little twist to get over the knuckle so that the ring isn't too loose on the base of the finger. Whereas if your finger gets wider towards the base, you'll need your ring to feel more snug so that it doesn't move too easily as your knuckle won't act like a barrier.
STEP 2: FIND THE CLOSEST RINGS TO YOUR SIZE AND TRY THEM ON
Look through the rings and find the section closest to your size. Try them on, taking note of which ones are too tight, too loose and about right. If you feel like you're half way between two sizes you may want to consider a half size. The average ring size for the UK is a size N 1/2.
STEP 3: TAKE YOUR RING SIZER APART
Find the clasp on the metal wire and unscrew it. Gently slide the rings off so you can wear your chosen size without the weight of the ring sizer, as this can give you a false size.
STEP 4: TRY IT ON AGAIN AND AGAIN
To make sure you've found the perfect fit, wear your ring sizer at different times of the day and at different temperatures. This will ensure that it fits as your hands change through the day. If your finger becomes red, take a break and come back to it when your finger is a more normal shade.
Most customers find their ring size changes across the day and it can also change depending on the season. You're looking for the happy medium size so it's comfortable all day and all year.
THINK YOU NEED A HALF SIZE?
If you're stuck between two sizes, with one too tight and one too loose, you probably need a half size, which can be purchased via our website. Most of our Jessica Flinn rings can be re-sized, so please don't worry if you need it changing a little after your purchase.
