LAB GROWN DIAMONDS
A cultured, or lab grown, diamond is different to a natural diamond in one important way - it hasn’t been mined. Although we work hard to ensure all of our diamonds and gemstones are traceable, we know that our lab grown diamonds are 100% conflict free because they have been made in specialist labs around the world.
You could say that creating these beautiful diamonds without mining the earth is nothing short of magical. Why? Quite simply, this process achieves in months or even days, what nature takes billions of years to create. Using a seed diamond, the perfect conditions are created to grow and mature a stunning diamond, so you can wear and treasure it for a lifetime.

OUR SIGNATURE CULTURED DIAMOND DESIGN
Bridgette is a beautiful modern heirloom piece in white diamond. What makes this design so special is its side profile. Each hand-selected lab grown diamond is held high in flowing claws that look like they are dancing from the centre of the ring. This setting has been created to ensure each beautiful diamond can be seen and loved from all angles.
SCIENCE MEETS BEAUTY
Cultured diamonds are a wonderful blend of beauty, science and ethical diamonds. They are a stunning centre for any heirloom ring, boasting the same brilliance and sparkle as a diamond forged in the earth.
HOW ARE THEY MADE?
Each lab grown diamond starts out life as a seed diamond placed in a chamber. There are two ways to form a diamond from here, both of which use carbon, pressure and high temperatures to create the perfect conditions for the diamond to grow. One heats the gas, melting it around the seed diamond. The other breaks down the molecular bonds of the gasses, causing them to 'stick' to the seed.
The results from each process are equally beautiful.
WHERE DO YOU SOURCE THEM?
At Jessica Flinn we are passionate about working with other small, family-run businesses. That's why we source our lab grown diamonds exclusively from a family set up, with decades of experience in the diamond industry.
Why do we do this? Quite simply, we're supporting master-craftspeople and experts across the industry.
HOW ABOUT PRICE?
The cost to 'grow' a diamond, vs mining a diamond is around the same. However, the journey of a diamond from lab to ring is much smaller than that of a natural diamond.
Without the huge supply chain of natural diamonds, their prices are incredibly competitive, often 2/3 of the price of a natural diamond. That's before counting the ethical and environmental benefits of these stunning stones.
